Idm 607 Extension For Chrome

I encountered this recently on a website I manage. Firefox would download the file without problems but chrome would always give XXX/0 B interrupted.

It turns out the problem was the webserver was sending an incorrect Content-length header which was more bytes than the actual file. So chrome was thinking the file was not completely downloaded when the webserver stopped sending data so it assumed it was interrupted. Removing the content-length header solves this problem. I know chrome used to work to download these dynamically generated files but probably changed it's behavior during some update. I'm using 13.0.772.0 dev now.

As handsomeorlandoman mentioned, we have been tracking this, and I'm happy to update you all that the implementation is done and currently available on Google Chrome 14 releases (which is currently the Dev channel). The fix will eventually make its way to Stable 14.0 which will be later this year. If you'd rather not wait, you can switch to the Dev version by following the instructions listed in reference 1. However, please note that the Dev version is less stable since it's where we test new features, etc. More information about how the feature works is included in reference 2. SO, our only options at this point are: Keep using out current chrome that will not download files correctly, OR Download a new chrome that is not finished, that maybe can download files, but has other major problems.?

The last option, uninstall chrome, say bye bye and start using a real browser that is not crippled or broken or still in development. I like the idea of chrome, for some things, but there are some very major bugs in chrome.

Some of them are: Incomplete downloads---- Vertical scroll bar when mouse clicked advances 2 pages instead of 1 on very long pages--- No easy way to view properties of anything anywhere.--- Not possible to view more than 1 tab at a time in the same window.--- Bookmarks open and replace the current page. No option to open them in a new page by default.-- Opening a windows movie file does freeze the webpage. However opening a MP4 file, generates a player right on the page.

At lease there should be a way to let the user know, [hey, its a wmv file, chrome does not support those, do wanna downaload it instead?] No place for writing notes, MYIE2 and MAXATHON both had a popup note pad for quick writing or pasting--- I used MYIE2 for many years and 7 years ago it 25x more features than chrome has now. Why is it taking so long for you guys to catch up?

I understand that Html5 is super cool and all, but what is the point if I cant even download a freaking File? That's a MAJOR PROBLEM and one more thing, WHY has not a trusted security certificate authority anymore? Google.com is not trusted because 'This certificate has been revoked by its cert authority' Fraudulent google is not the only one either. But why are we even having to deal with this? Giving away broken stuff, even if it is free, is just not very smart.
